Halal7 is a directory, not a halal certification body. We help you find places and information, but we do not inspect kitchens, slaughter or supply chains, and we cannot guarantee that any business or product is halal.
What the labels mean
- ✓ Verified by Halal7 — our team has checked that the listing’s basic details (that it exists, its location and what it offers) are correct, using the business, its website or a visit. It does not mean we certify the food as halal.
- “From Foursquare / OpenStreetMap data · not yet verified” — the listing comes from a public data source and has not been checked by our team. It may be out of date, closed, or not halal at all.
- Owner-managed — the business owner has claimed the listing and keeps it updated. Details are provided by the owner.
- Zabiha, certifier, alcohol and prayer-space details — provided by owners, visitors or our team. Certification can lapse or change. If certification matters to you, ask to see the current certificate.
Ingredient scanner
The scanner reads the ingredient list published in Open Food Facts and flags ingredients that are commonly haram or doubtful (for example pork products, alcohol, gelatin, E471 or carmine). Please keep in mind:
- “No flagged ingredients found” does not mean a product is halal — ingredient lists can be incomplete, out of date, or not show how ingredients were sourced or processed.
- Products change recipes. Always read the package in your hand.
- The most reliable sign is a trusted halal certification logo on the package, or confirmation from the manufacturer.
Differences of opinion
Scholars differ on some questions — for example machine slaughter, seafood, insect-derived colors, and trace alcohol in flavorings. Halal7 tries to describe ingredients and practices neutrally so you can decide according to your own understanding. For religious rulings, please consult a qualified scholar or your local masjid.
Prayer times and qibla
Prayer times are calculated from your location using the method you choose and may differ slightly from your local masjid’s timetable. Qibla direction is calculated mathematically; check your compass away from metal and electronics.
